POPLAR BLUFF, MO – Laren Christian, a Mississippi man visiting family in Ripley County, MO, was hunting when things took a turn. An accident led Christian straight to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center’s emergency room.
What initially appeared to be a routine injury escalated into a severe hematoma resulting from a ruptured blood vessel.
Christian says, “When I was in the ER, I knew immediately we were taken good care of!"
Emphasizing the exceptional quality of care received, Christian expressed gratitude toward the nursing staff, remarking on their kindness, attentiveness, and regular check-ins. "The nurses were kind and helpful, checking on me every hour," he says. "Their compassion and dedication were truly remarkable."
In addition to praising the medical care, Christian commended the food as being “ top-notch - I even took photos to share with friends back home.”
“I’d drive 400 miles out of my way to come to PBRMC. The quality of this place is that good.”
Accompanying Christian during his hospital stay, his wife, Karen, highlighted the sense of security and trust instilled by the hospital staff. "He's not one to sit still ever," she says, "but the care he's received is something we've never experienced before."
“We’d never leave our family alone in the other hospitals back home, but here, I feel secure knowing Laren is well taken care of,” Karen adds.
As a Navy Veteran and former Poplar Bluff firefighter, Christian’s connection to the area adds further weight to his endorsement of PBRMC's services. His positive experience underscores the hospital's commitment to providing exceptional healthcare to its community.
Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center remains dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to all patients.
